AVOLUTION An Avocado Table Setting

Like growing plants with silver leafs in bowls and pots made from different kinds of precious wood ­stacked like sculptural objects. ... A family of porcelain Avocado bowls, placed on wooden plates in various shapes and sizes, gets accomplished with sets of silver cutlery leaf picks. The setting gets supported by a long dark wooden table - the top surface and one leg are coloured in creamy Green. A pile of Avocados ­as we find them on the market ­pictures the initial idea. Object of desire ­nature translated into design.

BASIC.

Avolution is the transformation of ´the Avocado´ translated into different materials and shapes. At 'Wanted Design' scoops of Avocado will be inviting to try traditional mini dishes as well as culinary creations by C4.

Experience. The setting invites to enjoy different materials, colours, textures and taste. All items are uniquely handcrafted.

SUSTAINABLE.

C4 products aim to be the simple re ­conceptualization of LUXURY. Our definition of luxury today as a lifestyle lies in the richness and expression of the materials itself.

In pre­Hispanic history ­and still today ­the Avocado is the fruit of desire; it's shape referred to testicles (Ahuacatl from Nahuatl) was forbidden for young people to even touch. Also compared with the shape of a pear (Alligator pear), in fact the curve of the outer line is very feminine. This association melts with the pleasure of eating. As a symbol of such the Avocado is our icon for Avolution at Wanted Design in NYC 2011.
